Ever given a thought to how wasteful the packaging of your toiletries are? Coconut Matter has.
According to Coconut Matter, the beauty sector generated over 142 billion units of packaging in 2018 – most of which ended up in landfill or the ocean. It’s also reported that around only 50% of bathroom product waste ends up being recycled, which I think is absolutely shocking. With their zero waste, natural deodorant’s, this business are changing the game.
Zero waste packaging that actually looks cute!
Made up of cardboard and food-grade wax paper, each deodorant stick is hand-rolled. Now, when I say hand-rolled, you will be pleasantly surprised. These deodorant sticks are absolutely stunning! With different colours for each scent and slogans on the inside, this is definitely a product you will want to show off. It’s nice to see something that’s a part of your daily routine looking so fabulous, and knowing it’s making a change to the Earth!
Not only do Coconut Matter have the environment in mind, they also focus on their social impact.
With coconuts sourced from the Solomon Islands, they state that their promise is to “ensure pristine reefs and that their rainforests are protected.” There is an eight-step process to pure, fresh wild virgin coconut oil which you can read about on Coconut Matter’s website.
The Coconut Matter MOOD Deodorant Box
Four deodorants, each lasting approximately four months. That’s a years worth of deodorant – Wow! It’s amazing that these little sticks can go so far.
As soon as I opened the box I was welcomed with a gorgeous scent. I think it was a mixture of them all, and it was fantastic!
Geranium, lavender and lime.
A strong floral scent but paired with the lime it feels perfectly balanced and not overwhelming. Described as a blend with “uplifting properties for your mind to bloom with grace and have you raining happiness.” This one is truly stunning and a great scent to start your morning with.
Peppermint, eucalyptus and rosemary.
I first read the ingredients and thought it was a strange scent for a deodorant, but how wrong I was! This scent is my favourite of then all. So refreshing and it leaves me feeling all shiny and clean! It really is the “push of essential oil you’ll need to seize the day.”
Cedarwood, bergamot and vetiver.
This one comes in a close second – It’s smells phenomenal! If you’re not into overly floral scents or you prefer something that has more of a typical ‘masculine’ scent, this is the one to try. Described as “rich and robust“, this is my chosen evening deodorant before going out, it’s just perfect!
Truly unscented, it’s great to see this in the range. I am a scent lover in products, but I know so many people who are the complete opposite and would really appreciate this product.
So how does this natural deodorant match up to standard deodorants?
I’m not going to lie, I’m the type of gal that puts deodorant on a few times a day. That will never change! When testing out these, I used them twice a day, morning and afternoon. I noticed no difference sweat-wise to my normal deodorant which was great.
I’ve tried some natural deodorants in the past and been very unimpressed by some. I’ve experienced many crumbly textures which are just nasty to use daily, but the texture of these ones are the opposite. They are so smooth when going on and have left my under arms very soft, it’s actually amazing. It’s shocking when changing to more natural products what a difference it makes to your skin.
Overall I am very impressed and will definitely be using these from now on. I’m also keen to try out some more of the products from Coconut Matter, such as their lip balm and soap scrubs – They all sound great!
Have you changed any of your products to try and live a less wasteful lifestyle? Changing your deodorant may be an easy way to begin!
