As someone who lives in Surrey, we are surrounded by great places to drink. Although when I heard about The Tipsy Botanist through Instagram, I knew this was going to be something extra special.
Based within the beautiful grounds of The Medicine Garden, I was ready to be impressed and surprise, surprise, I truly was.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the most stunning, freshly cut lawns, with an entrance that looked like The Secret Garden. The twinkly lights looked so charming, it really was an amazingly grand entrance.
Within the corner The Konasana Dome was situated. Another Instagram account that I follow, it was great to see this beautiful dome in real life! It looked so cute tucked away amongst the plants, I definitely need to go along for a class there!
When walking under the entrance of twinkly lights, we were let in by two friendly security guards and given a hand stamp with the wifi code – Let’s Get Tipsy (what a cute touch!)
When walking in there was a food van and a large outdoor seating area with fire heaters. Each outdoor table had cosy looking blankets and there was also an outdoor bar which will be amazing throughout the Summer months!
The inside bar was within a long, well thought-out building with the bar at the front and lots of tables at the back. With lots of decorative looking bottles of booze, everything was on brand, even down to the black paper straws and the masses of succulents – it looked amazing!
We were greeted in the bar by some very friendly people (I think some of the owners too), so it definitely made us feel at ease. Sometimes in cocktail bars, there can be a snooty vibe, but The Tipsy Botanist was so welcoming and chilled.
There are a lot of options on their menu – wines, beers, spirits. There are classic cocktails, such as Bellini’s, but also their Signature Cocktails. I tried The Plant Hunter and Tipsy B.
The Plant Hunter
Hendricks Gin double measure, St Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon and cucumber muddled with ice and topped with lemon club soda.
I absolutely loved this one – gin with elderflower liqueur is such a good combo. This drink was so summery and refreshing.
A healthy splash of Bulldog Gin over cubed iced, topped up with Double Dutch Watermelon and Cucumber tonic.
This one is described as having “crisp, fresh flavours” which I completel agree with. Easy drinking and just fabulous!
Along with the amazing drinks, there is a food van which changes. Unfortunately we didn’t have any food whilst there, but I have previously tried Blacks Burgers and can say, their food is lovely!
Also, there are DJ’s on certain nights which adds a great vibe to the venue.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how The Tipsy Botanist progresses and I can already tell I’m going to be a regular!
Have you been to The Tipsy Botanist yet? What did you think?
