Bellaverde, Port de Pollença Review | Eating Out Vegan

Bellaverde, Port de Pollença Review | Eating Out Vegan

When booking a holiday to Port de Pollença, I really wasn’t hopeful when it came to vegan options. I was expecting the usual pizza with no cheese option or plain salads, how wrong I was!

I took a look on Happy Cow in the hope of some recommendations and came across Bellaverde, a cute looking restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, wahoo!

From the pictures, I knew I wanted to sit outside and on arrival I wasn’t disappointed. This beautiful garden was the perfect place for dinner, it seated a lot of people but felt intimate with the tea lights in paper bags and twinkly fairy lights in the trees. Now, if this wasn’t enough to convince you that you absolutely must try this place, let’s get onto the food!

A large and varied menu with both vegetarian and clearly marked vegan options in a range of languages. As this place had a lot of options, we went all out and had three courses along with a great bottle of white wine, clearly marked as vegan on the menu too.

To start, my boyfriend and I shared the Mixed Plate of tabouleh, hummus, aubergine cream, black olive tapenade and falafel. This dish was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. The tabouleh had a lovely refreshing mint flavour to it and the dips were so flavoursome.

For main my boyfriend had the red Thai curry and I had a burger. The red Thai curry came with veggies, tofu, rice and peanuts and the presentation was just awesome. The spice level was great but definitely too much for me! Although spicy, this dish definitely had a great amount of flavour which wasn’t lost behind the heat.

I was so spoilt for choice, stuck between the Fake Plate (seitan gyros), pasta or one of the many burgers. I finally decided on the El Fresco burger with avocado, home made ‘sour cream’, tomatoes and cucumber. This burger was so light and fresh, accompanied by possibly the best fries I’ve ever had, perfectly crisp and salty.

Both dishes were excellent sized portions and the food was very filling but of course, to finish our evening we had to have a sweet treat.

We decided on chocolate cake with rhubarb puree which was absolutely amazing! This dish was so gooey, rich and warm, just fantastic.

I would highly recommend Bellvaverde to anyone visiting Mallorca, not only are both the food and atmosphere great, the staff were so friendly and there were cute dogs and cats hanging out by the entrance too – so sweet!

Have you been to Bellaverde? If so, let me know your favourite dish!

  2. I love that place! I think I first visited in 2013 and I would love to go back again. That garden is just gorgeous and I remember eating a delicious dish made with figs.
