Sometimes an easy meal is required in my household. A bung it in the oven type situation. I’m in the process of moving house which is so manic, so something I could leave to cook is ideal some evenings.
Amy’s Kitchen was established in 1987 in America and produce vegetarian and vegan meals which are sold in the UK too in large supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s. Amy’s have a wide range of products, from soups to curries, pizzas to burritos. Unfortunately their whole range isn’t vegan but they do have some great vegan options which I have listed below:
- Bean & Rice Burrito
- Soups – Chilli / Vegetable Barley / Quinoa, Kale & Red Lentil / Split Pea / Lentil / Lentil Vegetable / Spanish Rice & Red Bean / Italian Vegetable / French Country Vegetable
- Indian Vegetable Korma
- Black Bean Vegetable Enchilada
- Pad Thai
- Gluten Free/Dairy Free Macaroni & Cheeze
- Thai Red Curry
- Gluten Free/Dairy Free Vegetable Lasagne
- All American Veggie Burger
- Manhattan Veggie Burger

I have seen some of Amy’s vegan products but this review is for the Chinese Noodles & Veggies. This meal wasn’t a super quick one. I thought it would be microwaveable but it was oven only. If I’m honest, at first I was disappointed it wasn’t a speedy microwave situation but after tasting it, I’m now thinking it was definitely worth the wait.
The sauce… Oh, the sauce! Creamy, flavoursome, nutty. The sauce made this dish, I am so keen to recreate this. The noodles were perfectly squidgy, almost the consistency of egg noodles which worked very well. The vegetables were lovely and had a great crunch to them which isn’t always the case with ready meals. There is tofu included but the cubes were teeny weeny so unfortunately would go unnoticed.
Overall, I loved this but at around £2.50+ I’m unsure if I would repurchase regularly, perhaps as a treat or when I need a quick dinner.
Have you tried anything from Amy’s Kitchen? Let me know what I should try next!
Sounds yummy! I’ve not tried that much from the range but the vegan mac and cheese is pretty yummy! Like you said great just to have if you need a super duper quick meal!!

Ah I’m so keen to try the mac n cheese but havent seen the vegan version anywhere! Maybe will have to order online 🙂
I love this one and get it free when it’s in offer from Shopmium. Just wanted to say you can microwave them. It’s on the instructions. – 4 mins I think. I’ve tried both microwave & oven and the microwave leaves it much more moist & creamy. Enjoy x
Ooh thanks for letting me know lovely! X
I find Amy’s Kitchen a bit hit and miss. I love their lasagne but their fake chicken soup tasted really chemically.
I’ve seen this noodle dish but have avoided it due to a nut allergy but it turns out I can eat cashew nuts so I will get this next time.

Oh that’s a shame. I haven’t tried that soup, only the lentil one. I really liked the sauce on this one, made a good, convenient dinner!
