Review: Barleycup Powder

I avoid caffeine at all costs, it doesn’t agree with me anymore so I am always looking for decaf alternatives. Barleycup have a range of decaffeinated cereal drinks including Barleycup granules, powder and even a version with dandelion!

Barleycup have many benefits to their products, including no artificial additives and all natural ingredients, they’re low calorie, a great source of fibre and best of all, they’re vegan!

I was lucky enough to receive the powder version to review and was very impressed. The powder is very thin, so when adding hot water to this it didn’t end up with any lumpiness, it stirred to perfection!

The smell of this is just like black coffee and so is the taste – I can’t believe how similar it is! Perhaps with a slightly more roasted flavour than the norm.

This works well with almond milk and I also tried a cup using agave nectar to sweeten which was lovely.

Overall, this drink is an excellent replacement for coffee without the caffeine and I will definitely be repurchasing. It’s very warming and would be perfect throughout the winter as a more healthy, low calorie hot drink.

Have you tried any Barleycup products? If so, let me know what I should purchase next!
