Burrito Loco, Guildford Review | Eating Out Vegan

A bright space, fresh food and lovely staff make up the perfect setting to relax and get something to eat, hence why Burrito Loco is one of my favourite places to go in Guildford.

This amazing place was created by Miguel, a man on a mission to bring fresh, authentic Mexican food to Guildford using local produce. Have a read of Miguel’s story here so you can get a feel for what Burrito Loco are all about!

Burrito Loco use local produce from Bramley’s Apple Greengrocers (based just down the road!) and their brownies are homemade – Yum! They have also recently introduced a vegan brownie too – The perfect sweet treat for after a burrito!

The menu here is varied, but I’m just here to talk about the vegan options, so if you’re looking for more click here for the full menu!

Choose from a burrito, tacos (soft / hard shell) or a salad box with a veggie chilli filling or the new vegan option on the menu, jackfruit!

After speaking with Miguel about vegan options for Burrito Loco, jackfruit was something he kept coming back to. This pulled pork alternative works so well as a meat replacement, something a little more exciting for vegan/veggie customers. I haven’t seen anywhere else in Guildford offering jackfruit, so this is something you’veΒ gotΒ to try!

As for toppings, Burrito Loco have everything! Different types of rice, different strengths of salsa, guacamole that’s freshly made and SO lush along with black or refried beans and salad.

Another excellent vegan addition is the Swedish Glace Caramel Cones. These are phenomenal and will be enjoyed by non vegans throughout the summer too, for sure. Creamy ice cream, rich caramel in the center, covered in chocolate… What’s not to like?!

Overall, if you’re in Guildford I would highly recommend trying Burrito Loco out. They are open afternoons and evening so perfect for a spot of lunch or a burrito and a beer for the evening.

* ALTHOUGH I HAVE STATED THESE ARE VEGAN OPTIONS, I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THERE IS NO CROSS CONTAMINATION. PLEASE CONTACT THE RESTAURANT ITSELF FOR MORE INFORMATION.
