Yo Sushi, Guildford Review | Eating Out Vegan

If you haven’t been to Yo! Sushi before you definitely should, it’s a great experience. Conveyor belts with food whizzing by and buttons at your table when you require assistance (push it, it’ll make you chuckle!). This place is interesting before you’ve even received the food.

As I wasn’t 100% sure of what the dishes contained that were going past on the conveyor belt, I ordered from the menu. In the pre vegan days I would quite happily pile these up to try out the different dishes but now I am very conscious.

I love that Yo! have marked vegan options on their menu – It makes life SO much easier!

For starters I ordered edamame, seaweed salad and the harusame aubergine – Bear in mind I was sharing these! Edamame are always great, these were plain so you could really taste the lovely flavour. I do usually have mine with chili and salt, so this made a nice change. The aubergine and seaweed were both so fresh and flavoursome!

For the main I had pumpkin katsu with some veggie gyoza’s. The pumpkin katsu was SO good, I could never get bored of that flavour, it’s truly a winning dish in my book! As I had the gyoza’s too (which were perfectly crisp) I ordered the small katsu. Previously I have ordered the sumo size one which was awesome! Such a big bowl and an excellent price at Β£9, so the starter etc. isn’t needed.

One thing I wish Yo! Sushi would do is create a vegan chocolate mochi – I use to love those! Overall, great food and atmosphere, I will definitely be returning!
